How do you drink Niang Jia drip chicken essence? How many, how to warm it, and for mums, kids and parents

Reviewed by Health Advisor Team

Short answer: Have one pouch of Niang Jia Drip Chicken Essence a day. Stand the sealed pouch in hot water (or double-boil it) for 3–5 minutes, then tear and pour into a cup and drink it warm. You can also drink it at room temperature, or stir it into steamed egg or porridge. Once a pouch is open, finish it. A box of 7 lasts exactly one week at one a day.

How do you drink it, at a glance?

Item Recommendation
Amount 1 pouch (50 ml) a day
Warming Stand the sealed pouch in hot water, or double-boil it, for 3–5 minutes
Other ways Drink it at room temperature, or stir it into steamed egg or porridge
Once opened Finish it in one go
Children from age 2 Half a pouch to a full one a day, warmed or stirred into steamed egg or porridge
One box lasts 7 pouches, exactly 1 week at one a day
Storage Keep the box at room temperature, cool, dry and out of direct sun; keeps for 2 years

What's the easiest way to warm it?

  1. Boil some water and pour it into a bowl.
  2. Put the sealed pouch straight into the hot water for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Tear it open, pour it into a cup and drink it warm.

If you can't warm it, drinking it at room temperature is fine. The four-layer aluminium pouch is sterilised after sealing, so it doesn't need the fridge.

How should different people drink it?

  • Busy working adults: one pouch before you head out in the morning, or before the afternoon slump, in place of that coffee.
  • Mums-to-be and new mums in confinement: one pouch a day, to help you get your strength back after the birth. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medicine, ask your doctor first.
  • Ageing parents: light and easy to drink, even with a small appetite. If they don't like it straight, stir it into porridge.
  • Children from age 2: half a pouch to a full one a day, warmed, or stirred into steamed egg or porridge. Not suitable for under-2s.
  • After training: one pouch gives you 4.3 g of easy-to-take protein, so tomorrow's session doesn't start on empty.

Who should ask a doctor first?

  • Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medicine
  • Anyone with kidney problems or gout, or on a low-protein or low-salt diet
  • Anyone managing a long-term condition (ask your doctor or pharmacist)
  • Children under 2: not suitable
  • Anyone allergic to chicken or poultry: don't drink it

Not feeling anything? What can you adjust?

  1. Check you drink it every day: having it only when you remember makes it hard to judge.
  2. Fix a time: tie it to breakfast or your afternoon break, so it's hard to forget.
  3. Give it time: finish one box of 7 first, then keep going for 2–3 weeks.
  4. Ask your advisor: after you order, your advisor sends you a start-up guide on Messenger. Not right for you within 30 days? You get 100% of what you paid back.
