Does LIVETAL antrodia drink have side effects? Safety tests and who should ask a doctor first (2026 update)

Reviewed by Health Advisor Team

Short answer: TIGROX LIVETAL Antrodia Drink is a botanical drink that KKM classifies as food, not a medicine. Universiti Sains Malaysia's National Poison Centre screened it for 8 corticosteroids and found none. Independent labs found no heavy metals, no microbial growth and no porcine DNA, and it is JAKIM Halal. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking any medicine, or living with a liver condition or under treatment, ask your doctor before you drink it. If you are allergic to avocado, mango, turmeric or any other ingredient, don't drink it.

What should you watch out for?

  • Allergies: if you are allergic to avocado, mango, turmeric or any other ingredient, don't drink it. The full ingredient list is in how to spot genuine LIVETAL.
  • Alcohol: LIVETAL supports your body's alcohol breakdown, but it does not make heavy drinking safe. Drink plenty of water and rest.
  • Amount: one sachet a day after a meal is the recommendation.

If you feel unwell for a while, get a rash or notice anything that worries you, stop and ask a doctor.

Who should ask a doctor first?

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding: ask your doctor first.
  • Taking any medicine: ask your doctor or pharmacist first.
  • Living with a liver condition or under treatment: ask your doctor first. LIVETAL is a botanical drink and does not replace treatment.
  • Children: ask a doctor before giving it to them.

How is it different from a hangover drink?

Hangover products look after one night. LIVETAL is one sachet after a meal, every day, as backup for your liver: Antromax® antrodia, turmeric and bupleurum support its daily work and your natural detox, and astragalus brings antioxidant and immune support. It is not a licence to drink heavily.
