How do you take Kuro Shuga? How many a day, how long before meals, and what to take it with
Reviewed by Health Advisor Team
Short answer: Chew one ZENSO Kuro Shuga 30 minutes before lunch and another 30 minutes before dinner: two a day, nothing at breakfast. You take it before the meal so it's already in place when you start eating, and that meal's rice, noodles and sweet drinks have their checkpoint from the start. It's a cherry blossom and bamboo salt chewable, so no water and no mixing. A jar of 60 lasts 30 days.

|---|---|
| Amount | 2 tablets a day; don't take more on your own |
| Before lunch | Chew 1 tablet 30 minutes before |
| Before dinner | Chew 1 more 30 minutes before |

| How | Just chew; no water, no mixing |

| Suggestion | Try 1 jar first; to match the 8 weeks of the CQR-300® study, choose 2 jars |
The ZENSO sets say 15–30 minutes before eating. That's the same window.
Why before the meal?
In your gut, enzymes quickly break rice down into sugar. Kuro Shuga needs to be in place before those enzymes get to work:
- Table sugar: L-arabinose slows sucrase, so the sugar in sweet drinks, cake and kuih is broken down more slowly.
- Starch: CQR-300® and white kidney bean slow alpha-amylase, the enzyme that cuts rice, noodles and bread into sugar.
- Quietens cravings: gymnema dulls the sweet taste.
Two tablets a day give exactly the 300 mg of CQR-300® used each day in the 8-week ingredient study.
What happens in the first days?
- First meal: chew one 30 minutes before, and it's in place by the time you eat.
- Week 1: fewer sweet cravings, and you feel lighter and less sleepy after rice meals.
Everyone responds differently. You'll get more from it with balanced meals and exercise.
What can you take it with?
- Kuro Oiru: its best partner. Chew them together before lunch and dinner: Shuga for carbs and sugar, Oiru for fat.
- Other ZENSO products: Kuro Mizu first thing in the morning, Kuro Daitto with breakfast.
- Already on a ZENSO set: ZENSO Lite, Advance, Pro and GLPro each include 1 jar of Kuro Shuga, and so do the Keep Burn Set and the 7-Day Trial Pack.
- Prescription medicine: if you are on medication, especially blood-sugar-lowering medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist first.
Who should ask a doctor first?
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Anyone on medication (including blood-sugar-lowering medicine) or managing a long-term condition
- Anyone with diabetes: always ask your doctor before you start
- Anyone allergic to a food or any ingredient: read the ingredient list and ask your doctor
- Children: ask a doctor first
Not seeing changes? What to adjust
- Check you take it before both meals: one meal only, or taking it when you remember, makes it hard to judge.
- Get the timing right: 30 minutes before, not after.
- Measure your starting point: use a tape measure on your waist and check once a week.
- Give it time: take it for at least 30 days; the CQR-300® study ran for 8 weeks.
- Ask your advisor: they can plan when you chew around your meals and routine. No genuine difference within 30 days? You get a full refund.
