How do you spot genuine E-VITE? 6 checks before you buy in Singapore

Short answer: To check E-VITE, start with the pack: genuine stock is a factory-sealed box of iBling E-VITE, 60 chewables, net weight 60 g. NPRA (Malaysia's drug regulatory agency) classifies it as a food, so having no MAL number is normal and not a sign of a fake. Before you buy, choose a distributor who can show proof of authorisation. A bottle priced well under S$109 on Shopee, Lazada or Carousell may be old stock, repackaged or not E-VITE at all.

1. Can the seller show proof of authorisation?

Just ask. An authorised distributor can show it and won't mind. That goes for us too, so feel free to ask.

2. Is the price unreasonably low?

Priced well under S$109 a bottle? Be careful. Ask where it came from and when it expires. If the seller can't say, don't take the risk.

3. Is the box factory-sealed?

Check the seal hasn't been opened or re-stuck, and the bottle isn't dented. Recording yourself opening the parcel makes any problem easier to sort out.

4. Is the expiry date clear?

The date should be printed clearly, not scratched off or covered by a sticker. If it is close to expiry, ask before you order.

5. Check the name, size and dose

The pack should say iBling E-VITE, 60 chewables, net weight 60 g, with 10 mg lutein, 2.2 mg zeaxanthin and 4 mg astaxanthin per 2 chewables. If the numbers don't match, don't take it.

6. Don't be misled by "only MAL means genuine"

E-VITE is a food, not a drug. NPRA classifies it as a food, so it doesn't need a MAL number. Judging genuine or fake by the MAL number doesn't apply to E-VITE.
