MOVEON for active people: runners, hikers, gym-goers, badminton players and anyone on their feet all day
Reviewed by Health Advisor Team
Short answer: Yes, it suits active people. MOVEON supports all five parts of the joint in one sachet, and runners, hikers, gym-goers, badminton players and people who stand all day use it to look after the knees, hips, ankles and shoulders they rely on. In a study of healthy adults taking 40mg UC-II®, knee extension improved from 73.2° to 81.0°, and they lasted twice as long in a step exercise before joint discomfort began. That is research on the ingredient, not a trial of MOVEON itself. MOVEON is a health functional food and doesn't replace treatment for an injury.
Key points
| Your activity | Joints doing the most work | What MOVEON supports |
|---|---|---|
| Running | Knees, ankles, hips | Cartilage, joint fluid, the bone underneath |
| Hiking, especially descents | Knees, ankles | Cartilage, tendons and ligaments |
| Gym and weights | Knees, shoulders, wrists, lower back | Tendons and ligaments, bone |
| Badminton | Knees, ankles, shoulders, wrists | Tendons and ligaments, cartilage |
| On your feet all day | Knees, hips, lower back, ankles | Cartilage, joint fluid, inflammation |
What does training actually ask of your joints?
Every landing, every jump smash and every step down a trail hits the cartilage first. Cartilage has no blood supply of its own. It depends on joint fluid to soak nutrients into it. Tendons and ligaments hold the joint steady, and when they lose their spring the joint wobbles and wears unevenly.
So an active body needs more than cartilage support. It needs all five parts looked after together, which MOVEON does along three pathways:
- Balance. UC-II® at 40mg works through "oral tolerization" in the gut. In plain terms, it teaches your immune system to recognise joint collagen and leave it alone. Alongside it, 500mg of turmeric supports the inflammatory pathway, where a typical capsule holds only 100–200mg.
- Replenish. Ovomet® eggshell membrane delivers collagen types I, V and X, hyaluronic acid and elastin in one ingredient. The elastin and type I collagen back up the tendons you lean on in the pool, on court and on the golf course.
- Reinforce. BonePep™ egg-yolk peptide supports bone metabolism and vitamin D3 keeps bones and muscle function normal, so the foundation under the cartilage keeps up.
The three pathways run at the same time and cover for each other, so the whole formula does more than any one ingredient could alone.
What did the research look at in healthy adults?
The mobility figures MOVEON lists come from research published by the maker of UC-II® (Lugo 2013, Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition). The people studied were healthy adults taking 40mg of UC-II®:
- Knee extension of 81.0°, up from 73.2°. In everyday terms, the knee straightened further.
- Twice as long before joint discomfort in a step exercise. They could keep stepping for longer before the joint started to complain.
This is ingredient research. It shows what UC-II® can do. It isn't a trial of MOVEON, and it doesn't mean you'll get the same result. MOVEON does use the same 40mg dose as the study.
I'm young and nothing hurts yet. Is it too early?
No. Plenty of people in their thirties and forties start while they're still training hard and pain-free. Joint wear builds slowly and quietly, and the sooner structural support starts, the more cartilage there is left to protect. If you have an old injury or a joint that's had surgery, MOVEON suits you too, but it doesn't replace your doctor's or physiotherapist's guidance.
How should active people take it?
One sachet a day, after breakfast: shake, tear and sip, no water needed. Timing around your session matters less than never skipping a day. Rushed out to a race or an early hike? Have it after lunch or dinner instead, but never more than one sachet in a day.
Frequently asked questions
Can MOVEON fix a sports injury?
No. If you've sprained, strained or swollen something, see a doctor or physiotherapist first. MOVEON is daily joint maintenance, not injury treatment.
Can I take it with protein powder or other supplements?
Usually, yes. MOVEON already contains natural glucosamine and chondroitin. If you take prescription medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist first.
Could it contain hidden drugs?
SGS testing found none of 365 drug compounds, including the painkillers sometimes slipped into joint products, and no heavy metals. If you compete under anti-doping rules, check with your team doctor or event organiser before you start.
How soon will I notice anything?
Around the first week, most people feel less stiff and lighter. Mobility usually improves in weeks 2–4, and the structural work runs over 4–12 weeks. Results vary, and if you don't feel a genuine difference within 30 days you get a full refund.
