LIVEON ingredients: the 4 patented actives, 9 botanicals and what each does
Reviewed by Health Advisor Team
Short answer: Each 20ml sachet of LIVEON holds four globally patented actives: Sirtmax® black turmeric from Japan, Enzogenol® pine bark from New Zealand, SOD Extramel® melon SOD from France and Puredia Seaberry® sea buckthorn. Alongside them are nine fruit and plant extracts and 100mg of vitamin C. Each one handles a different job (defending against oxidation, protecting cellular energy, countering glycation and supporting cell repair), and together they do more than any one alone. Formulated in New Zealand; vegan, Halal and gluten-free.
The ingredients at a glance
| Ingredient | Where from | In plain words |
|---|---|---|
| Sirtmax® black turmeric extract | Japan | Flips the cell's "repair switch" and works against glycation |
| Enzogenol® pine bark | New Zealand | A water-extracted antioxidant that protects protein and DNA |
| SOD Extramel® melon SOD | France | Tops up an antioxidant enzyme your body makes less of with age |
| Puredia Seaberry® sea buckthorn | Sea buckthorn berry | Omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9 plus vitamins and minerals to nourish the cell |
| Vitamin C | 100mg per sachet | Supports collagen; a basic of immune function |
| Nine fruit and plant extracts | Kiwi, mangosteen, mulberry, acai, giant knotweed, grape seed, aloe vera, green tea, curcumin | The botanical matrix |
Sirtmax®: why is it the key ingredient?
Sirtmax® is a patented extract of black turmeric (Kaempferia parviflora), standardised for compounds called polymethoxyflavones. Put simply, black turmeric contains natural compounds that switch on the sirtuin pathway, the cell's own repair switch. Researchers spent a decade trying to reach it with resveratrol, which absorbs poorly and is usually under-dosed. Sirtmax®'s maker rates it 15 times stronger than resveratrol on this pathway.
It also works against glycation. In lab data it held back glycation end products (AGEs, the stiff "knots" left when sugar sticks to protein) 7 times better than the reference drug aminoguanidine. Sirtmax® has also been tested in a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled human study: at 100mg a day for 7 weeks, fasting blood glucose and HbA1c fell significantly in the treatment group. This research was done on Sirtmax® itself, not on finished LIVEON, and it doesn't mean you'll get the same result. LIVEON isn't a blood-sugar-lowering product and doesn't replace medication or your doctor's advice.
Enzogenol®: why extract pine bark with only water?
Enzogenol® comes from the bark of New Zealand's radiata pine (Pinus radiata) and is extracted using water alone, with no chemical solvents. The US FDA recognises it as GRAS (generally recognised as safe). In published data, it lowered protein-carbonyl and DNA oxidative damage over 6–12 weeks. A protein carbonyl is essentially a rust mark on a protein; fewer marks means better-protected cells. Other studies have looked at cognitive performance and heart and blood-vessel health.
SOD Extramel®: why top up an enzyme?
SOD (superoxide dismutase) is the main antioxidant enzyme your body makes. Think of it as the cell's own fire crew for free radicals. The catch is that you make less of it as you get older. SOD Extramel® comes from one particular French melon variety and helps rebuild that defence. Clinical data: perceived stress down 30% and quality of life up 42% by day 28, and mental fatigue down 20.8% by day 84.
Puredia Seaberry®: what does sea buckthorn add?
Sea buckthorn carries more than 190 natural actives, including omegas 3, 6 and 9 and the rarer omega-7, along with vitamins and minerals. The first three actives defend; sea buckthorn feeds the cell.
What about vitamin C and the nine botanicals?
Each sachet has 100mg of vitamin C, which works with grape seed and giant knotweed to support collagen against glycation. Giant knotweed is a natural source of resveratrol and, in research, also slows the formation of glycation end products, so it pairs neatly with Sirtmax®. The other botanicals round out the matrix and are why LIVEON tastes like a fruit drink, not medicine.
Why combine them instead of taking them separately?
Ageing never works on one pathway at a time, so LIVEON runs in three stages: defend (SOD Extramel® and Enzogenol® against oxidation), restore (that same defence protects the mitochondria that make your energy) and renew (Sirtmax® supports the repair switch while vitamin C, grape seed and knotweed counter glycation). Wellous formulas are reviewed by a Medical & Research Board of Advisory of doctors, pharmacologists and food scientists, and LIVEON is made to GMP standards.
Frequently asked questions
How much of each ingredient is in a sachet?
The product information gives 100mg of vitamin C, 11 kcal, zero fat and 2.7g of total sugars from fruit per sachet. Amounts for the other ingredients aren't published; ask your advisor if you'd like to see the pack label.
Were these studies done on LIVEON?
No. The ingredient makers published them on the same patented ingredients LIVEON uses. They show what the ingredients can do, not a guaranteed result from drinking LIVEON.
Does it contain pork or gluten?
No. It's Halal certified, with Halvec Laboratories (a JAKIM panel lab) confirming no porcine ingredients, certified gluten-free at under 2mg/kg, and fully vegan.
I'm allergic to one of the fruits. Can I drink it?
No. If you're allergic to any of the ingredients, LIVEON isn't for you.
